Q. Where do I get a licence?

You are required to fill in a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM).
This form must be lodged with the celebrant within 18 months and not less than one calendar month prior to the marriage. (I will do this for you)

You are required to have two witnesses over the age of 18.

 

Q. How long is the ceremony? We want it short.

The ceremony will be of your design and will include all necessary legal requirements. Marriage is a serious undertaking, and you will be making promises to one another for the future. The ceremony can vary in length according to your wishes.
Handfasting, the sharing of wine, 'shattering the glass', or the use of candles can be included.

Q. Do we have to have a giving away?

No, this is not a legal requirement. There are 'support' vows - Asking the guests to continue supporting the couple now they are married.

Q. Where can we get married?

You have a wide choice of venues.
